Here in Washoe County, you can get your furry friends microchipped at two locations at a free or low cost. At WCRAS, all Washoe County residents are able to get their pets microchipped free of charge! Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. No appointment needed! 2. Check Your Pet’s Microchip Information
If your pet is already microchipped, use National Check the Chip Day as a reminder to verify that the information associated with their microchip is current. Here’s how you can do it:
- Locate the Microchip Number:
If you don’t have the microchip number handy, your vet can scan your pet to retrieve it. Or, you can visit one of many convenient Microchip Scanner Stations throughout our the region, hosted by WCRAS and NHS.
